Will be curious to see how this plays out over time. Human curators naturally introduce bias. Long-term it would seem that Medium will be mostly the **topics** that their staff like, since that's what their bias will choose to boost. Thus, people who like those same things become subscribers. Then they want more of that content and it just feeds itself.

It feels like Medium has decided their readers don't actually know what's good. They don't trust us. Because what we click on and read isn't good enough to drive their algorithm.

But I like algorithms. They don't have opinions.
